This position involves preparing nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review menus and prepare ingredients needed for food preparation
- Follow recipes and production sheets to prepare quality meals
- Follow kitchen opening and closing procedures
- Handle food and kitchen equipment following sanitation and safety guidelines
- Meet deadlines for tray line, cafeteria service, and catering preparation
- Properly garnish and present food items
- Report repair and maintenance needs to the Supervisor
Please note: Candidates must be willing to work in a team setting, have great communication skills (written and verbal), and must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- ServSafe® Certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Dependable attendance and positive attitude
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service
- Ability to lift and carry trays, boxes, and supplies up to 25 pounds
- Ability to push/pull food hot boxes up to 50 pounds
